is there any difference in those 2, there's an identical look to them except for the timing hole in the case of the truck trans
The trans is from a 77 dodge 3/4 ton 400 4bbl. It came with a "low stall" converter.
I was just wondering if there are any internals which would make it a better candidate to build over a passenger car 727 & take the power the 471 will make. Obviously not trying to run it stock, (this is for my dart)

Most large [ Dual-wheel ] RV,s had the hole in bellhousing
all of them I ever tore down had 4 gear front and rear planetary's
Good heavy duty OEM parts.

Cool, thanks for that info.

I thought "Loadflite" was the AMC version.
U right I had one with a brake behind my stroker 401 ## surely fellow knows difference in bellhousing bolt patterns !!!
AMC

AMC is a torque command.

there is little difference in a truck trans and the 3 gear planetaries are just fine. If it was a big difference every truck to ever hit the scrap yard would have the trans gone first. Day. And that’s just not the case.

People get them confused
They are Torqueflite
With Amc specific bellhousing 1972 they swapped to 727 dropped Cast iron Brg Warner

I just looked and according to wiki (I trust as much as I can throw my house), the Loadflite is the truck transmission. Maybe more heavy duty?

No doubt 3 gear is fine / but he has 3/4 truck so 4 is better if he has such !
I bet mine is a 4 gear set up also because vehicles are similiar.

Over 200 wins and 19 world Records using AMC power .

Well you know, AMC had GREAT port configurations. I think that's what Fred Brewer designed his big block Mopar heads around was those AMC style ports. They were the shizzle all through the 70s for pro stock.

Yes, I'm trying to figure if it's a better starting point to build for my 471 stroker dart

Even a glide is nice if u are racing
Just saying # I love my Heavy 727 its robust and solid but it eats some power to function
