Good evening all,

Cleaning up a couple sets of lower control arms. Realized that 3 out of the 4 arms have a collar at the torsion bar socket. 1 does not. Has anyone else ever come across this? Arm without the collar seems to be slightly looser.

First picture shows without the collar, one shows with the collar.

Apologies if terminology is off.

I do a lot with lower control arms.
I have seen that quite a few times.
Don't think any more of it.
Just the way the manufacturing plant made them for Chrysler Corp, under the contract at the time, and blueprints, and whatever year they were made.

Early no collar and late has a collar

Sorry It is just the opposite of what I stated

Interesting. The set with both collars, I got from a 64 valiant in a yard. The mixed set was from a 73 duster.

Who knows what happened over the life of both cars though.

Awesome. Thank you for the insight!
