Lower Radiator Hose on 68 Barracuda

Hey guys! I am changing out my upper and lower hoses on my 68 Barracuda 360. Both upper and lower hoses are on the driver side. So I got the new hoses today. Goodyear brand. My question is on the lower hose. There is a funny ring/notch that is 2 inches in from opening on hose. What side does it go on? Water pump or radiator? Thanks!

I see what you mean. Probably doesn't matter, but if you install the ringed end to the water pump inlet, a loose hose clamp isn't going to slide down the hose before you can tighten it.

There was no such ring on the equivalent Gates-brand hose I installed this summer.

It goes on the water pump nipple, Slide it on and it will fit perfect.
