Today was gorgeous, sun was out, warm, absolutely great day to take the ol' girl out for a spin across town to a buddies house...
Until you get halfway to his house, and realize damn, the gas gauge is on empty when it shows 3/8's of a tank.... and you sputter up onto a curb roflmao... Thank god my buddy had his five gallon jerry can in his truck... embarrassing to say the least, sitting on the side of the road with a Virginia Beach PD car behind you while you're filling your tank... And to think- I literally said to myself maybe I should fill er up before I left base 20 minutes before hahaha.
Got to his house, and his two boys (10 and 8) were wanting to help on the car. so we got froggy. I showed them the bolts underneath the car for the front seats, and said go to work. We wound up pulling both front seats, cleaning the carpet, vacuuming up all the yellow ghost poop that the old foam is turning into. Then the oldest emptied my trunk, pulled EVERYTHING out, and went to work with a wire brush scrapping rust and loose paint and cleaning... Two coats of grey rustoleum later looks not quite good as new, but theres no more rusty nastiness in the trunk.. All in all, a pretty good day! Plus me and my friend spent the rest of the evening embarrassing his 16 year old daughter. Got to love weekends!
