Hello all,

I recently converted my 273 to electronic ignition with the MP conversion kit. Does anyone know how much mechanical advance they build into the distributor? The vacuum advance is adjustable and I am seeing reports of 15-18 degrees of vacuum advance in the distributor. I can't find any information on how much mechanical advance they put in the distributor. Anyone know?
Thanks,

The two I have purchased both had 24 degrees in them. They are set up assuming an otherwise stock engine so 10-12 initial with 24 in the distributor gives you the typical 34-36 for a small block.

I read some where they had one with 18 in it. Don't remember what the part # was though. Mallory makes a kit to change it to what ever you want and it comes with different springs too.

I think you can put your int to 0 them run it up and see what timing you get.
