So I know this is 2 years away but planning way ahead.

2026 is the 100th year of Route 66s initial construction. My long time plan has been to cruise the entire route over the course of May/ June 2026.

Taking my 440 dart along the route, would there be much interest in doing a big group of Mopars running the Motherroad, kind of power tour Esq? If so, I’ll look into what it’d take to plan something like that (a lot of work I’m sure) just a thought I had

If you vote yes, i won’t hold you to it of course, this is just to gauge interest not a commitment

I would be down for the western leg. Also which direction? I have a lot of ties to SoCal but I grew up and now live (again) just a few miles from Rt 66 in Oklahoma. I’m installing a 2.76 so my car would be great for it. I could even sleep in the Space Duster!

Here’s a better idea. Southern Plains Mopar Fest. It’s in Bristow, OK on rt66, they drag race on 66 in front of the Dodge dealer (sponsored). Cruises , swap meet, and car shows for 3 days. This year it was Mothers Day weekend but in years past it has been on the 2nd weekend in June around the 11/12. I don’t know when it’ll even be next year though.

SPMF could be a meeting place for East and west to come together OR just a stop through.

While the Southern Plain Mopar Fest sounds pretty cool it's getting into the hotter part of the year.... Oklahoma in mid June? I'd vote for early May.... I tried to get my kicks on Route 66 a few years ago when I got a car out of Texas & brought it back to California... But while testing it before committing to the drive it overheated severely... I threw it on a transport & flew home.... The car is pretty well sorted now & I'd love a chance to redeem that trip...

And yes, the picture in the avatar id the same car... Taken back in 92.. I sold the car to pay for another car... Got a chance to bring it back home & that's what I did...

I had planned to do Route 66 a couple of time but something always came up. I thought for sure this year till my appendix ruptured and I’m still recovering. I’m 66 so I hoped this would be the year to do Route 66. Starting in Chicago and going to LA. I’m pretty confident my duster would make it but it doesn’t have a/c so I’m hesitant about that as I’m told a great holiday can turn into a nightmare in the scorching sun. I was advised to go very late September and October as it will be a lot cooler then. Also been told to take a newer reliable vehicle so a guy has all the creature comforts which makes for a much more enjoyable trip. Kim

Well I’m thinking starting it in Chicago and ending at the pier. But since is know it is a MASSIVE amount of cruising, thinking of arranging check points and breaking it into various legs. Envisioning meeting up, cruising the route, stopping at the next check point to link up with whoever might be there and then everyone could basically pick what parts or part, they wish to tag along with. I’ll definitely go the distance. Or at least attempt it. But I realize not everyone can afford such time off work or even the costs of the travel.

Course, this wouldn’t be a pay per thing, just a bunch of Mopars linking up for a drive together.

Late September/October wouldn’t be bad. But for me, it comes down to wanting the kids with me, can’t take them out of school for two weeks without the schools being jerks

Drive halfway across the country to drive halfway across the country? I'm sure it could be fun, but no.

c'mon man, i'll meet you in sibera with 16 gills of gin, a basket of limes and crushed ice.

look for the guy in a barracuda that has no earthly business being in a parking lot in the middle of the desert.
