MSD 8728 Soft Touch Rev Control Wiring?

Just bought a MSD Soft Touch Rev Control Box. After reading forum after forum, I am confused on the correct wiring. I have the directions, but people say the MSD directions for Mopar electronic wiring is wrong. Some used the wiring for Points. I just want to wire it right the first time and not splice into the mopar harness incorrectly. Anybody out there have this working currently, show me the way please. I have a stock coil, orange box, and stock electronic 383 distributor (not an MP one). Thanks

They indicate using violet for trigger, seems like it might also work by using white connected to green at coil (-). The 12V supply might be powered from IGN1, blue wire that feeds ballast, and regulator. Do not use coil (+) because the voltage will be dropped by ballast.

I looked at wiring diagrams to figure out, but no experience with MSD units.

Man, good call on the 12 volt power. I never even thought of the ballast. Quick question though, why would the green and white wires tied together at the negative side of the coil work the same as the violet rpm limiter wire to the distributor mag wire? I would rather do it the white to green wire way as to not splice into the distributor wire. Really curious what you saw to know that would work also. Thanks ahead of time. I am not the best with the electrical end of these cars yet. Always willing to learn and except knowledge.

The wiring diagram for points or ignition amplifier work that way. The white wire senses the coil primary signal for RPM. The green wire loads circuit, to disable spark when RPM exceeds limit.

Best check with MSD, phone number is at bottom of instructions. Hold them accountable.
