name the wire! HELP

i just bought a 67 valiant for the wiring harness and harness im not using, this wire was cut and taped off but on the parts harness, it went to a what looks to be a oil sending unit off of the oil filter for a slant six. it the wire right under the flat black wire in the picture(the gray one with the metal end on it.

I hope your picture shows the bad wiring harness. Because it looks pretty hacked up. Check the blow up from the wiring diagram and compare it to the wiring colors in your picture.

Edit: Reading the first (long) sentence in your post once again it´s clear that you´ll not gonna use that harness.
