as the title say does anybody know if there is a code for nason paint that match the color of the fe5 bright red?????:cheers:

I can't see why there wouldn't be, have you asked your paint guy to check it? I assume you're talking about the new low VOC paints so it's a new world out there :banghead:

I have shot the verithane single stage, follow the instructions and PDF.Flows like glass in cold weather.Dunno if it helps, reminds me of old Dupont Centari acrylic enamel.

I haven't shot it myself yet but I went to the demo by the Dupont rep and it seemed like you had to stay closer and move faster. Having said that I don't know if "earthmover" is splashing it himself or just verifying if you can get the color code in Nason? Can't see why not, I think it's the new colors you'll have a bit of a problem matching perfectly.

My Mom can spray primer so don't use that as a gauge :D

Seriously though, paint shoots way different than primer, lean heavily on your cousin to help you with this or you'll have an expensive mess on your hands.

well damn and i thought i was getting good..you had to go and sh-t on that.:eek:ops:.lol just joking ..yea he will help as much as i need ....thanks for the advise to save some money ...:D

Don't mean to rain on your parade, just saying paint is a much different animal than primer.

Shoot a test panel first, maybe you do have a magic touch and if you don't at least you'll know in time to work on it.

We'll be looking for pictures :happy1:

Good luck

hey i was just joking... i really thank you guys for all the advice and help wish you where closer i'd buy the beer afterwards lol....thanks mike

I used Nasons the second time I painted with a gun.
Very forgiving and easy to work with. Much more so than Delstar.

...however...I used the PPG codes for my factory color, and what they gave me is too light and too gold (vs YY1 bronze), and more metallic.

My brother in law used the same color bought on a different day, and mixed from some other code, and his is exactly the same as mine.

I was just shooting the engine compartment and some steel wheels.

I think I will have them color match the Delstar when I am ready to paint the body, as it is dead on for the factory color.

Yeah I know you were joking, so was I about my Mom, she's 80 and doesn't really shoot primer, my cat on the other hand.... :D

One other comment I have, I don't know my Mopar color codes so I'm not sure what color you're looking at or if it has much metallic in it. If you shoot single stage metallic and lay it down like crap you can't sand and buff it like a solid color. Most people recommend base/clear if you spray a metallic since you can sand the hell out of the clear if you put enough of it on.

Your cousin knows the drill

hey rob the color is bright red or rally red and i would like to do base coat and clear...the bright red is dodge and the rally is plymouth i think...thanks oh send the cat to help:shaking: and i'll pay shipping lol mike:D

well been looking and found the ppg code for the fe5 2136 95.00 gal. base coat clear coat...:hello1::hello1::hello1::hello1::hello1::hello1::D:D:D:D:boxing::boxing::boxing::boxing:

That seems awfully cheap, is that really for both, a gallon of base with basemaker and a gallon of clear with reducer and activator?

I'm in Canada, everything costs more but even then that seems insanely cheap if it's for both, hell it's cheap if it's for just one or the other.

My single stage was almost 50% the price of the DelStar.

no thats just the base..not the clear...i plan to go base coat clear coat...thanks mike
