I have a 1969 340S Barrcuda. It has the orange Mopar electronic conversion kit. I had AutoInstruments rebuild to modern specs the tachometer that came with the car. I hooked the blade terminal wire of the tach to the ACC circuit and the post terminal wire to the negative post of the coil. The vehicle would not start and the coil began to get hot. I disconnected the tach wire from the coil and the vehicle immediately started.
My manual's schematic shows this hookup. Is there a better way to hookup this tach (that is if I didn't destroy it)?
