new carb ?

Should I rebuild the original carter avs carb again or is there a better aftermarket carb that would make my freshly rebuilt 340 roar? Also what would be the right size cfm summit says 600 cfm. This engine still has the original factory intake.

whats the combo? and [new carb]=yes in general because the yrs of use tend to wear the trottle shafts out and give funny idling and chasing of such.

even a stock 340 would like 700cfm or more.

tell us the combo and you'll get a cfm answer.

either way I recommend a 700cfm holley vac secondary 4brl for your combo.

If automatic trans, I recommend a 2200-2400 stall convertor also.
