Call me PJ if you must call me anything at all. I was blessed some 12 years ago with a 1968 Plymouth Valiant Signet as my first car. Although it was a Yankee car for most of its life, it had little rust on the underside, and most of the accident damage was fixed very well, given how accident damage was usually handled by shops 50 years ago. It is a very nice vehicle, with the Super 225 under the hood, a nice original black vinyl interior (which gets very hot in the Alabama summers), and is factory equipped with every single optional extra Plymouth offered for the Valiants (sans the gaudy wire wheel covers). I’ve always been interested in automotive history, but learning how to be a grease monkey has been a difficult but rewarding process. Currently, I am trying to return the car into being the daily driver it was in my teenage years, getting the engine redone, the fuel and electrical systems sorted, and all of those good and expensive things. As I near the finish line, it is becoming increasingly difficult to source the parts I need. The internet has evolved into a vast library overflowing with absolutely nothing of use, and I’d rather deal with real flesh-and-blood humans than tangle with scam bots programmed by people who view my hobby as a quick and easy way to steal cash from retirees. Over the years, this forum has helped me immensely and I am disappointed that it took me this long to join. Thank you so much!
