72 swinger sl6 w/ac. I replaced the heater core, hoses and thermostat (195). No heat, noticed that the hose going into the heater core is hot on both sides of the water valve but cold going back to the pump. Temp gauge is dead center. What gives, can't imagine(don't want to!Pain to change) that a new heater core would be blocked

oh LOL my bad I saw the A/C thing. didja check to see if the heater core area gets warm? it sounds like there's a block somewhere in your heater core

I had this happen to me about a week ago on my Fury (new heater core, just like yours). I pulled both hoses from the firewall to run water into it and check for blockages.

Turns out that I had left one of the little yellow tophat-looking plugs that keep debris out during shipping/storage in the inlet side.

That was humbling.

Sounds like a blockage somewhere. My Duster has a 180 degree stat in it and my temp gauge does not ever go even up to 1/4 way and I get blasting hot heat. My car is a 340 without A/C.
