For Sale in Medford, Massachusetts: One (1) genuine Carter BBD 6537s 2-barrel carburetor in new old stock (NOS) condition. This item has never been installed, used, modified, rebuilt, or remanufactured. It's still in the original plastic wrap from the factory. The color photo shows two carburetors; the asking price ($269 plus shipping) is for a single carburetor of the type shown, in the condition shown.
The Carter BBD 6537s was original equipment on some 1974-1976 Dodge trucks with 318ci V8 engines. It features small holes in the throttle blades to improve idle quality of the 318 (see B&W photo). BBD's also fit some 273ci Chrysler V8s.
The BBD 6537s flows 285CFM through its 1 7/16" throttle bores.
This carburetor will fit many applications, including some "slant six" (Chrysler OHV 225ci, 198ci, and 170ci inline-6 engine) setups. The choke linkage will need a minor modification to work with slant six engines.
