Hi all, first post here. Currently building a 71 Swinger. I plan to post pix in the resto area. I've been a visitor here for well over a year now and appreciate all of the info. Also, seeing others making progress on their projects keeps the flame on my arse to keep blocking that sheet metal!

A few pix below show 13 months of on and off again work. "Current" plan is 340 6-pack with 4-speed trans. Mini-tubbed and lift off hood. F6 Green with early 70's graphics and Fenton big and littles. Sort of a homage to the A-12 Road Runners of the day...especially the infamous "Project Six Pack"

Funny thing is I have NO desire to go racing! I just LOVE to build cars that I envision. This is similar to my "day job", I build and restore vintage guitars eight days a week...but I dont play. Again, it's the satisfaction of creating something from nothing or taking a crusher bound a-body and making it new again.

Cheers,

Mike

I think that first pic looks pretty close to the perfect car already! Shiny paint is over rated!!! Can't wait to see the progress!

Welcome aboard!! I can tell already that you and I are gonna get along famously. I do a little bit of that "something from nothing" stuff around here too ... just on a smaller scale. :-D

Make yourself at home and never be shy with the pics. It's just more fuel for our addiction.

Where in Mississippi?

Hi. Tupelo...Birthplace of Elvis!!! I tell folks all the time that he stops by the store every few months to get his guitars tuned up;-)...they sometimes believe me!

Psst, there's another Mississippian on here :) but I'm in a suburb of Jackson... (I'm working slowly on my 74 Duster) I too noticed the lack of southeasterners.

Welcome!!

Erina

Speaking of Elvis, do they still have that McDonald's there with all the Elvis stuff? I tell people about it and nobody believes me!

YES!!!!....That one is still open BUT just a few weeks ago, McD's broke ground several blocks down for the new retro 50's style building. Alas, the "Elvis" McD's will close down. If u need a pic for "proof", I'll send ya one...I usually go thru there once a week. HAAA!!! Small world.
