Has anyone out there modified your stock pan with a baffle. We're running a windage tray on my son's 360 center sump car pan but would like to add a simple pan baffle to keep the oil were it should be under acceleration.

I've seen them fabed before but I'd like to get some ideas. even pictures of after market pans might help.
Thanks Richard

Is the engine apart ? If not, this wont help -

If so, put the pump and pick up on the block and place the oil pan on with 4 bolts. Reach down thru the cylinder bores, and mark the bottom of the pan where the pick up sits and where the pipe crosses the pan into the sump with a sharpie. You will be making a sump lid out of moderate gauge steel .030-.050" thick. Make a cardboard pattern - cut and fit as needed until the pattern fits right, dont forget to make a hole for the dipstick and some drain backs for the front and rear of the cover. Duplicate the pattern from steel. Test fit it with the pump pickup dipstick and windage tray in place, adjust as necessary, and weld it into the pan.

The short block is already put together. But thats a great idea. I try that when I put my 340 together.
