66 Barracuda - pulled 318 motor and trying to install new 408 (360) with Milodon high volume pump. I do not have enough clearance between the top side of the K member and the bottom of the block where the pan bolts on. Not sure why, being I've heard of guys using this same pan. I do have the correct motor mount and resonators from Schumacher (A63LA) - this was a S6 car originaly. The instructions do state that you "have to use an original factory low profile oil pan" but I'm certain guys have done this before.

Any information is appreciated - Fab mounts to raise motor? Fabricate front shallow area of pan to fit?

TIA

No picture with the pan showing interference?
Make sure the engine is located correctly- this is from the TTi website, and gives the correct (factory) locating dimensions:

A factory-style pan should clear just fine if the engine is in the right positiion- I've got one on my '66 with a 360.
Exactly what pan are you trying to use?

Just a thought here- are you trying to install the pan with the engine already mounted, and that's why you think it won't fit? You have to unbolt the engine and raise it to install the pan- it won't slide in there with the engine bolted down...

I don't know 1966 models so I'm assuming the biscuit mount is correct? 68 mounts are turned 90 from what yours is. IDK

this ^^

no way in hay-deeze you getting a pan on w/o unbolting it and getting the motor up several inches.

the clearance there is *tight*

By the looks of it, the back of your engine is supported on wood blocks- so no transmission yet? Just yank the engine back out (2 nuts at this point) and slap the oil pan on. You'll have to pull it out if you're going to install headers anyway (and you should be, with a 408).
