Ok my engine is almost complete! now the question about an oil pan comes up! will a stock pan be alright? i heard of a guy locally distroying his stock pan on a 60's dart just driveing in his driveway! should i go with a deep sump or what should i do??? i have a 73 dart sport and it sits kinda low in the frontend!

Have you had this motor/pan in the car prior to the build. If not, is it a center sump pan you are using (needed for a pass car)? If you go with an extra capacity pan, you may want to reconsider if you think you are going to have clearance issues. If you do decide to go ahead wit it, look at the pans that have extra compartments on the sides rather a physically deeper pan.

Farmer a stock pan will give you more clearance than most any aftermarket pan. As far as the story you told that guy must have had a low setting front end and been ditch hopping to destroy a stock pan because they barely hang lower than the K member. Like Ben said there are a few that don't sit much lower than stock. If you want extra protection their the type to get. I've been looking at Kevco pans for awhile. Just waiting for a buddy of mine to get his engine with a Kevco pan set in his car to see if it clears everything alright.

Don't forget if your car sits really low you can always adjust the torsion bars to raise it.

Mine holds 4 qts. + one for the filter. I think their all the same. I have a remote filter kit on mine. Love it. No more oil on the headers when I change oil.

Ok the pan i have is a stock pan and it hold 5 qts plus i am going with a dual remote oil filter kit! will this be enough? if not what kind of pan should i get? what is everyone running?
