All done in jest, and it's pretty long, but some of the responses are pretty funny!

And based on some of the things I've read here, very relatable! ("It turns over but doesn't crank.")

It was like an epic novel that I couldn't put down! But after 27 pages I still don't know if he got his truck fixed? And some of them guys are just mean.

Bout the same as here.
I was going to say, "We get almost the same thing here at times." And sometimes we do have some questions that are so poorly asked that I am scratching my head wondering what the heck the person wanted. But rarely does it get as ridiculous as in that Ford link. What really makes me mad is when someone asks a question and then argues with people about how their ideas are wrong, and sometimes they get quite nasty. I cant take behavior like that.

If you've noticed, I've gotten to where I make suggestions once, maybe twice and I'm done. Just recently I told a member something like, "well don't do it then" regarding changing distributor vacuum from manifold to ported. Why wouldn't you try that when it's so simple and costs nothing? When they bucked the suggestion that's when I gave my response. I think I commented a couple more times, but I'm done "there".

You can lead a horse to water.

It befuddles me how people will dig their heels in on simple diagnosis, but yet are ready to buy a sack load of parts that may or may not fix their problem. And if they shotgun it and it fixes it, how in the world will they ever know what it was?

# 1 rule of drag racing, change one thing it goes faster it goes slower at least you know which thing you did works.

Correct. It works for some diagnosis, too. Sometimes you cannot test certain items. An ignition coil comes to mind. There's really no test for one. You could see it on a scope, I guess, but how many people have one in their back pocket?
