Do clutch rod and z bar from a 76 volare slant 6 work in a 76 Duster with a V8?

Tad,

The tube on the z-bar is about an 1" longer than the v8 bar. The good thing is it's all on the engine side of the bar and you can trim the tube and it will work fine. I did that when I swapped to the v8.

When you say clutch rod I am assuming you mean the rod from the z-bar to the clutch fork. It's the same.

Depending one what vintage the bell housing you are using on the v8 the z-bar ball stud bracket that bolts to the bell housing is different. Most of the z-bar repair kits supply the bracket for the 72 and older bell housing. If your bell housing is newer and you use the older bracket the z-bar will sit at an angle up and to the front of the car. The correct bracket is available from Brewers.

Thanks Dave.

The rod in question goes from the clutch pedal to the z bar
