So my Dart was Vapor locking , put a phenolic spacer on and bumped the timing up a little
Now it’s running much much better.
Also need to put vac gauge on carb and see how the carb is set up.

Thinking of putting a Regulator with a gauge on next, should I run a return to the tank ?

Driving for half hour or more , stopping 15 min to 1/2 hr. Going again then stumbling and stalling out under acceleration. Much better now without the heat transfer to the carb.

I had the same situation

Stock 67 dart 273 2bbl, no spacer only the thin carb gasket, fuel lines run per oem

Sit in a drive through temp rises, get to street and start to accelerate and the engine would big down like no fuel.

Let off the accelerator it would recover and be fine from then on.

My solution is to run ethanol free gas. I have done nothing else to the car and I can not make it happen now.

She has a 318 with a edelbrock LD4B
QFT 680 cfm on top.
73 block with 68 heads , 340 cam.
318 is .40 over.

Well that explains it. The carb was getting too hot… that’s why they made the airgap… so yeah a fuel return is a good thing…
I ran an LD4B on My 'teener w/a 600 VS Holley, used the truck intake gaskets(small ~3/16" holes at the exh. crossover), & aluminum Mr. Gasket heat shield/gasket stack...never a problem......of course that was before the current selection of gasoline cocktails(mid-late'80's, right when they put the final nail in leaded fuel's coffin).
