May is our anniversary here at PSC and to celebrate, things are extra special this month. It's a 25% discount across the board off the already low prices ... underhood accessories, pulleys, valve covers, suspension parts, you name it!

IN ADDITION, you probably can guess that powders don't last forever. If your part is coated in any of the following colors, you'll earn an extra 5% off just to help clean out the existing inventory and make room for new colors. (Of course, all of these powders are still within freshness tolerances and will look great.)

Quantities are limited so don't wait!!!

Sunshine Yellow (solid tone) -- like John Deere yellow ... customer's car is Lemon Twist - he calls it a "perfect match"

Tangelo Mist (candy metallic topcoat)

Plum Cast (fine, almost sandpaper-like texture)

Manhattan Blue (solid tone)

City Lights (black glossy base with rainbow effect -- very cool)

Nugget Gold (candy metallic topcoat)

Alien Silver (fine metallic silver solid tone)

Hemi Orange (solid tone)

Blasted Steel (solid tone)

Wilder Red (candy metallic topcoat)

You can see examples of all of these colors on my website Gallery at
http://phoenixs.dot5hosting.com/page2.html.

Be sure to mention you're a FABO member when you call or write for a quote. As usual, this offer will expire on the last day of May. Thank you to everyone here on FABO for helping to make the last year one to remember!

I've got some pot metal tailight surrounds from the Ramcharger I need done in satin black. Let me scrounge around a bit this week and see what else needs to be done.

I really, really wish you were closer Leanna. If you were we'd be talkin' about front and rear bumpers and a RC roll cage. The stuff is just way too damn heavy and bulky to ship.

Now I'm stuck using the local powder coating turkeys for the big stuff. :angry7:

I need to go to a salvage yard and get me a nice factory /6 valve cover and get it to you this month

Memphis in may got rained out :banghead:

They announced the bands that got canceled and Puttle 0 Mud was on it.

I will be in touch CudaChick.
Looking forward to another addition to the little A

Awwwwwwwww, you two are bustin my balloons with this thread and it's just gettin started!!!

RamCharger, pot metal is an intricate beast all its own. (There's another thread on here about pot metal with a question from SweatyBetty-- do a search for "pot metal powder" and it should come up.) Different eras had different pot metals (40s, 50s, 60s, etc.). Because it's composed of basically 'trash' metals that the manufacturer had on hand at the time, it's extremely hard to get consistent results when coating it, or even know what you're dealing with short of expensive, destructive testing. It's especially hard to work with if it was manufactured during wartime ... it's just cheap crap to be honest.

It almost always "out gasses" ... blows air and impurities through the powder coating despite hours of prior heating (they look like little teeny volcanoes). Some areas will be perfect, some will be so/so, and others will look just terrible.

With all of that in mind, I'd be willing to try your tail light bezels but can't guarantee they're going to look good. If they end up with outgassing, the only resort afterwards is to sand the bad spots down and either try again (with no guarantees) or just paint them.

Gasp! A powder coater recommending painting??? YES. I'm honest, I can't help it.

I put fifteen hours into pot metal gauge bezels from a '59 Impala and, despite a happy customer, I still wasn't happy. I've got 12+ into a pair of pot metal 67 Barracuda back up light bezels and they're still not done. Pot metal's a pain, it always takes longer than you think it will, and ends up too costly laborwise.

But I'll do it. It's my job and I love it. :-D

Mike, I'm sorry to report that your Slanty valve cover probably won't fit in my current oven. The latest addition to your little A is going to have to be something a little smaller.

Thanks for being honest Leanna, I do appreciate it. Paint will do nicely I think as all I'm gonna do is bash this thing around the mountains while I scope out some nice fishing spots. I'd hate for you to go through all that work for me to trash 'em. Good information regarding pot metal as I had no idea.

BTW, I would never, ever want to bust your balloons, lol!

Mike, I may be wrong on the measurements but I DO know a GM straight 6 valve cover won't fit so I'm guessing the slanty won't either. The bigger oven is supposedly being built but who knows when it'll finally be here.

We're getting some fairly heavy rain here tonight ... hope you're hanging in there my southwest neighbor!

Oh yes -- you asked about stickers before. Today I ordered a couple preliminary vinyl decals from a place here in town (amazing! Greenfield has a new decal store out here in BFE and it's reasonably priced!) so I'll let you know how the quality is. If they're worthy, I might start selling them for cost on the website and/or include them with finished orders.
Thanks for putting out the word Memike! :love7:Every referral is a good referral and I appreciate 'em all.

You are welcome leanna, I hope the stickers are worthy of your fine work
you and Bill do.
Slant 6 valve cover is 26 1/2'' long, are they to long. :-k

Memike, I'm very sorry to report that the valve cover is too long for my current oven setup.

:banghead:

What a way to start off a Monday morning. Ughhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

I just got the word last night that the business arrangements are all taken care of and PSC is now a formal authorized dealer for Performance Coatings!!!

Bring on those header and manifold jobs guys ... I'm ready to start the ceramic coatings now!!!

This is a photo of the "PerformaChrome" finish; it's also available in gray, black and cast iron for those OEM fans.
