hey guys

so my power steering line developed a leak and I throw a bunch a fluid at it for a couple weeks before just disabling the pump. The underside of car got soaked with the fluid.

a mechanic was trying to sell me his labor to replace the hose and one of his selling points what that the fluid that has coated the underside will turn the rubber pieces down there to mush and he had a special flushing agent of some kind. I think the rubber turning to mush sounds reasonable so I tried to flush with water, well its oil and didnt flush well. now I'm considering jacking the front applying Purple Power liberally to parts I feel need and then washing throughly.

Is the oil on the rubber a concern? comments on the purple power flush idea?

and now based off the rust thread i'm gonna spray wd40 on the bottom. should I avoid the rubber pieces?

After jacking the car up and setting it on stands, spray it down with a 50/50 mixture of Super Clean or Purple Power combined with Dawn dishwashing soap.
Let it sit for 15 to 20 minutes and then pressure wash (gently).

That's not a "leak", it's the rare factory optional semiautomatic self-rustproofing system.

Bullcrap.

Sure, or just take the car through a car wash with underbody wash and be done with it.

Useless/pointless.
