power steering pressure hose leaks at fitting

The power steering pressure hose leaks at the pressure fitting on by 1966 273.
The hose and threads appear to be fine. The fitting spins freely

Is there a trick when connecting? I lined up the fitting and hand tighten before wrenching to tight. I am also able to hold the hose in place during the process.
I am 100% positive that leak is at the fitting (judging from where I clean up the fluid)

Hose and entire assembly about a year old with less than 3000 miles

Am I missing something?

I had a hose that looked fine, but the flare was messed up, and it wouldn't seal. It leaked out the fitting no matter how tight it was. Had to scrap it -- nothing to do.
