What's the most power these 2 rods can handle? What's the most power that you have seen go through a set reliably? Which are stronger? For 400 hp and 6500 rpms?

How much power did the D Dart have? 275? That was with stock rod bolts.

I am confused by your inclusion of only the Magnum rods. They are not superior to the earlier standard 318, 340 and 360 rods.

Buy new rods if you want to make power. You know, some nice H-beams or something. Then when you call you can discuss with the manufacturer what's best for your application.

Google "Fatigue life" if you need some help making the decision.

In another thread you said you were using Magnum pistons . Magnum rods are narrower on the pin end than the other rods. As far as strength , either should be fine.

That's the only difference I knew of. From a strength standpoint, I don't think there's much difference. Even from the early 318/273 rods. If they were weak, we'd know about a lot of broken ones. We don't.

Yes Mopar Sam. However, I'm now considering the possibility of finding an affordable set of hypereutectic or forged pistons that are for LA rods. Or perhaps grind down the small end enough to fit in the magnum pistons if I can somehow use the pistons with the full floating wrist pins. World of possibilities.

And I think I saw in one of your many other threads about this that you want to run Magnum pistons because of the thinner rings? Is that right? If so, that's REALLY splitting hairs. Big time. Just run a low tension ring.

Compared to most stock sbc and sbf rods , the sbm rods are much beefier, Even the early ones. I would run arp bolts though , and check the big ends . Also check the bushings on the bushed ones for proper fit.

Racer dude , are you planning on having this balanced? If not you will be better off with rods and replacement pistons that match your crank. magnum with magnum ,early with early .
