I've been using this site as advise and how-to on certain items of my project. (68' Notchback Barracuda) But, alas I am at a stopping point and have lost my way... The interior is 80% or so done (will post pics later) and I've done a lot of your typical work to make it a reliable driver.. The issue I have now is what way I really want to go.. 1) A reliable driving Resto-mod, 2) Pro-touring or 3) My personal favorite.. Pro-street.. Why? To be different, and bring back the memories of my childhood at the Hot Rod Supernats (Canfield, OH) in the early-mid 90's. I know the older guys remember, Man.. as a kid every year getting to smell Cam-2, Loud gear drives, Blowers, massive cams, and huge exhaust. To add to being different, that's why I bought a Notchback instead of a Fastback Cuda, and bought an A-body instead of an E or B body. Because, as we all know.. it costs a lot to find a B/E with little rust and drivable from the start. I guess it is apparent where my allegiance lies.. Pro-street.. Let me know what you guys think. Its nice to meet all you guys on this forum, its a great place and I'm happy to be a part of it.

:welcome: to the fray! To hell with what others want - do your own thing, make it what YOU want it to be. Personally, I still absolutely love the pro-street look! She's not full on pro-street, but well on the way with the look.

Thats what I had in mind, like you have. Not a full back halved car. Like yours which I consider a drivable pro-street look. Something you could drive to work and still sound radical. I also dont know if I should stay small block or go big block, I'm not a hot rodder, I just really like that nasty scare small children big cam sound.

I have had people legit ask me if my car is a big block..

What motor are you running? 318,340,360, 408 stroker? I have a 318 with iron heads, edelbrock intake, carb, headmen longtube headers into 2 1/2" pipe and super 40 flowmasters. I'm thinking of camming it and a stall converter but not sure what cam would be radical but I can still take the wife to breakfast on a Sunday morning. I'm thinking a comp cam kit the XE268.

The interior, I took it all apart and repainted it, just a home rattle can touch up with correct prepping, its not really the right color to the "purists'" but.. Good for me

Hello from Minnesota. Nothing wrong with Pro Street, back half the car, put 15 inch wide tires on, gear drive timing and a big cam to make it sound wicked! Always liked the notchbacks, know someone who wasted way to much money having a shop ruin his car by making it only 1.5" off the ground in the front. No engine, tranny, or much of anything else but a set of seats that look ridiculous. Now it's sitting in his garage collecting dust. Don't be that guy!

Since you don't want that radical of a car, mini tub it and stick the biggest tires you can, it'll still look badass.

it's a 408 - oodles of go fast goodies - as I said, it was a race car - the PO had put quite a bit of $$ into it. I gotta say, this thing really isn't a Sunday go to breakfast car - I am working on backing it down some though.

Ryansrt, I have only been to the Steel valley nationals one year when it was first being started. (haven't lived in Ohio for a decade, thank god) It was ok, but it was nothing what I remember of the actual Hotrod magazine sponsored events in the past. Scampmike, keep the pro-street dream alive! Locumob, thanks for the comments. Definitely have put some work into the car, and I am trying like hell to do things right, the old school way.

Thank god things have changed I'm 30+ years, now you can have your Pro-Street and drive it too!
