Im working on my 66 Dart that is getting a stroked 408. I bought a champion radiator part number #526 which is 22 7/8". The radiator that is listed to fit my car is a #1635 which is 23 3/4" tall or actually just about 7/8" taller then the one i got. The reason for the change was because my new water pump will exit on the passenger side. The radiator quality appears to be better then what I expected for the money but the height puts the cap and neck to high where the hood is not going to close. I can move the locating holes lower but in order to do that I am going to have to drop the lower support that protects the radiator. Was wondering if anyone else had to make changes to your early A Bodies or for that matter any mopars? What material did you use and do you have any pics made of your fabrication?
I will keep this updated as I move forward for others that may run into this problem as well.
