Rats...........

-
That's crazy!! I've never even seen a rat before. They don't exist in my province.

bt....Aren't you lucky...no rats. Lived here in this 'hood for 13 years and never had a problem before. If I catch it, I'll be happy to show 'ya. lol

The best revenge?? Bait that trap with chocolate exlax, lots of it!!! then follow the brown trail and watch him die...We do it here for groundhogs...seems to work well. Keep the pets away from it!

With the pets I have, almost impossible to keep them out of anything. With my luck the "brown trail" will lead thru the house and onto my pillow.....:sad8:

LMFAO @ some of these ideas!!!!!

An old trick to keep vermin out of your car is a fabric softener dryer sheet. They hate the smell!

Leanna,,,,Pretty funny "****", huh. Just heard the dryer sheet trick from a neighbor the other day. Sure is a clean way to keep them away.

Just think.....the cars will smell "April Fresh" ;-)

I blasted one out in the yard the other day with the 12ga riot gun.....

certainly they aren't so bad....:)

certainly they aren't so bad....:)

No disrespect to your "pet" :love6:.........as long as he doesn't like wires. :boxing:

put peanut butter on the can. the can will spin. fill the bucket with water so he drowns. pretty savage i suppose.

Absolutely, positively, the most inexpensive genius idea I've seen....:happy10:...Might have to substitute the can choice though....lol

Haven't caught this sucker yet, but have left the hoods up at night since the suggestions.

Well, I've been baiting the live trap w/ peanut butter on and off over the last few months. :angry8: Caught one awhile back, but I didn't get a picture before I let it loose.

This one was not quite so lucky. :violent1:

Let the pups out the other morning and I should have known there was something up when they didn't come back within a few minutes. Went to check on them and they must have gotten this sucker out of the trap and saved me a trip.....LOL

At least they didn't eat it....eeeeewwww

I went out to the Dart yesterday, opened the hood, and see a rat had been doing something in there, not sure what. Anyways, he ran and I could tell he was somewhere under there because he didnt run away, I think he was sitting on the tranny. Anyways, I just turned the car on and revved it up really loud. I've never seen a rat run so far so fast. Open headers did the trick.

just put some moth balls around the engine compartment and such,if you have old parts cars around put some in each car and trunk engine compartment and such, they hate the smell, and of course get a cat named "BOB"!

put a snap trap on top of engine with peanut butter but get a piece of cracker the size of a dime and push it into the peanut butter
i am an EXTERMINAToR for 18 years, close the hood

If you do catch it in the trap, I have 1 suggestion for a cheap, easy and silent way to assure yourself that it will NEVER bother you again.......

Give him a good snort of brake cleaner. No mess, no fuss and no disturbing the neighbors.

Also good on snakes, wasps and greasy parts at junkyard.

I had a stinking possum in mine in Orlando..........

What a mess............I'll have to dig out the story I wrote when it happened and put it up.........unbelievable.

:protest: ........:hmph: :hmph:

Just opened the hood on the /6 a few minutes ago and found this. Nice little nest of orange peels..........I sure hope that's the same rat that the pups helped out a couple of days ago.

360scamp can I borrow your "Bob" cat........lol.....I have one but she's a "house princess" :bootysha:

Pulling out the dryer sheets like Leanna suggested earlier. If I have to go the "moth ball" route I will, but I hate the smell too. My mom used to use those and I can't stand the smell till this day. (RIP Mom, no disrespect intended)

For future reference, I scrounged up detailed instructions for a sinister device that I ran across several years ago. This was crafted by the evil genius responsible for Lego pr0n as well as toothpastefordinner.com (an amusing webcomic). I suspect that it may work well for wire-gnawing rodentia as well as the squirrels mentioned in the article.

http://web.archive.org/web/20010206192246/drew.corrupt.net/squirrel/

It's not much of a stretch to apply this technology to a normal snap trap by attaching one side of the output to the wire bail and the other side to a strategically-placed metal tack in the wooden base. Then the thing could be triggered by a microswitch that's closed by said wire bail to ensure vermin mortality.

Hypothetically speaking, of course. ;-)
