Rear spacing for 74 scamp

I have a 1974 scamp with an 8 3/4 rear end! the front of the back tire is to far forward and im unable to run larger tires because it will hit the fender! what do i have to do to run bigger tires

What size tires? I have 28x11.5x15 on my 71 scamp rim is 10in wide 7.0in backspace.

You can drill new holes in the spring perches & the shock plates to move the axle housing back on the springs a little. Watch your clearance to the gas tank. Don't know how close it is on your car but it gets tight on the early cars. You might be able to get away with still using your existing drive shaft.
