I am looking to improve the cooling on my Barracuda its a 69 with a pretty stock 318, no A/C. At the moment it has its original 19" core radiator, I checked in the part manual and this was stock for this engine size with no A/C. I'm taking this car with me to australia so as you can imagine the temperatures are going to be HOT, especially compared to here in the UK.
I have been looking at a Cold Case radiator which looks like it should be a bolt in replacement, hopefully this means I can fit a factory spec shroud and shallow depth clutch fan. Here is the spec from Cold Case. 67-69 Mopar A-Body SB Aluminum Performance Radiator
Has anyone fitted one of these? I guess its a more efficient design than the OEM radiator but I am concerned that the core width is only an inch wider than the current rad.

If you use the search function and type in some key words, there are probably dozens of answers for you.

Hmmm, that maybe puts me off a bit. Sounds like maybe fitment might be an issue. My other altenative is the OER aluminium reproduction OER MA2236A, more expensive but US made.

if you want something that looks OG and works this is the choice. get the corresponding shroud and a clutch fan. with the right waterpump and pulley arrangement you could idle it in downtown hell and be cool as a cucumber.

I would be interested in anyone’s opinions on aluminium vs copper/brass. I’m going for the OER MA2236A (alumium) or MA2247A (copper etc). I’m going to be daily driving and road tripping in Ozzy temperatures and humidity, so I would want to overcompensate on cooling, Mancini have both the above radiators and the 22” shroud, so before I place the order it would be interesting to know what people think, pros and cons.
I have an original 7 blade 18.5” fixed fan so at the moment I may not bother with a clutch fan, I think a little more noise and a few less horses at cruising speeds is outweighed by the reliability of the fixed fan.
