I'm a little beside myself, right now. Please bear with me, while I explain. About 15 years ago, when my daughter was a senior in H.S., for her "Senior Project", she rebuilt an LA 360, and we intalled it in my '67 Formula S Barracuda. The machine shop who did the work, (rhymes with BeeGee Machine), in Auburn, Wa., used my personal head/torque plate to hone the block. At the conclusion of our business, he retained the torque plate because he was working on another small block, and I wasn't going to be needing it for some time. Time passed, life happened, I recently retired, and I went back, today, to take back possession of the plate. He looked at me like I was from Mars, and of course he didn't remember me or the plate. Now I realize it's been 15 years and all, and he's had thousands of customers, but that's not the only work he had done for me, and the plate was pretty distinctive. It had flame cut edges, was thick, like 1-1/2" to 2" thick, it was stamped with my name and phone number, and application and it was in a custom-fitted 5-sided dark-stained oak box with dovetailed corners. It was designed to slip over the plate, while the plate laid on edge, then you insert these two bolts, which fed thru the head bolt holes and into nutserts in the box wall. through box, and had a handle on the top edge so you could carry it like suitcase. The box even had an engraved plate on it which had my info, which may or may not be there anymore, because it was just glued on with 2 sided tape. If you have seen it anywhere, please contact me.
$100 for anyone who can give me info leading to the recovery of said plate, and hopefully the box, too.
There is also a similar missing BB mopar plate missing, too. But one thing at a time.
