Rocker arm Q's

The rocker arm shafts have a 'notch' on one end..which way do they face?

I am guessing , front of engine?

I searched the site and found it! Mine are wrong..luckily I asked before I called it DONE.

The notch on the end of both 318 and 360 rocker shafts should point to the engine centerline and either toward the front of the engine (on the left cylinder head), or toward the rear (on the right head).

Notch on the passenger side DOWN and to the REAR. Notch on the driver's side DOWN and to the FRONT. Another way is to just make sure the oil holes face DOWN and toward the valve springs.
