An American businesswoman in Rome was running late and needed to get to the airport to catch a flight. She hailed a cab down and asked the cabbie if he could get her to the airport in a half hour in such heavy traffic.
The cabbie said, "Ah, yes, that woulda be not a problem here because only de real men driva de taxi in Roma." He loaded her bags, jumped in the cab, and headed out into the traffic.
The cabbie began speeding and darting between cars and careening all over the road, but was continuing to make headway. The woman, a little nervous by this time, asked him, "Are you sure that this is safe?" The cabbie answered, "Of course itsa safe. Only de real men driva de taxi in Roma."
The cabbie continued on his mad driving pace, all the time talking and pointing out various historic places, gesticulating with both hands in the air. The woman noticed this and became alarmed with the cab darting back and forth between lanes.
She blurted out, "Oh, my God, put your hands on the wheel, will you?"
"Whatsa matta witha you lady," he answered, "lika I tella you, only de real men driva de taxi in Roma."
