looking for a budget repair for my badly rusted roof on my 72 dart, it's pitted and there are pin holes in a fair amount of spots. I plan on putting a vinyl top back on but want to do what i can to try and make it better, sealing, skimming ect. any advice and pictures would be of great help to me, would love to replace it but don't have the time or money right now.

My boss (been in auto upholstery for years) has mentioned if rust has developed under a vinyl top that any rust needs to be cut out totally and replaced. I mean that's true with anything on the car but he indicated especially if the vinyl top is going to replaced. Another words it needs to be dealt with to the full degree right now or it will pop up again.

Blast it and use USC All metal Its a aluminum base filler.
