Running wiring to doors?

did a quick search but didnt really find anything but for any of you guys that have done it.... how did you guys run wiring into the doors? looking to installed power door locks eventually.

did you guys use like a rubber sleeve like newer cars or ive seen like that metal slinky type things?

I kinda like these. But. I haven't used them before. Maybe close a ball of aluminum foil in the jamb and see how much space you have between the door and the jamb. The SS ones might scratch? IDK

I used the ones Dustermike linked to run my power window wiring into the door. I’ve seen the ones Kendog kinked but decided to go with the other ones. They work great

Well I would take the advice from someone who's been there for sure.

FWIW the power window wiring is at least 12 gauge. The wiring sheath I used had room inside for the PW wiring but not enough for both the PW Awiring and the power door lock wiring.

How about using some of the wireless connectors that make contact only when the door is shut?

hmm ok. at least someone has used the ones i shared. i didnt even think of those contact style ones you posted jetnoise. ive worked with something similar.

they look like this but always had issues with them breaking.

I put power lock on my Dart when I restored it in the late 90's. Wrapped the wires in the same loom wrap Mopar used, snapped in a plastic grommet in the fender and door to route it through.

I left a little slack so it could fold in when the door is closed.

Those look really cool, but what if you want to operate a window or door lock while the door is open.

since its not like a new car where the jams are so tight i guess that works.

Go to a pick apart and find a car with similar gap and take them, i think rubber would probably work better an less chance of kinks and stiffness.
The ones u linked look nice however
