I plan on using an adapter on my rear wheels. I have an 8.75 rear end in a 71 Duster. My plan is to put 275 60 15 in the rear as I think this is fairly close to the widest tire I can get back there. If I was doing that without the adapter I am thinking I would want 4" or 4 1/8" backspacing.
My question is how do I calculate what backspacing is needed once I add the adapter? If the adapter is for sake of illustration 1/2" thick would I just add an additional 1/2" to the backspacing of the wheel i.e. now look for 4.5" or 4 5/8"?
