"Scarberry" ??????

I was at my dads house today looking over the 340 block he just got.
I went to check the stamps for the vin etc. and to my surprise in capitol letters was the word...

SCARBERRY.

Last 3 casting numbers are 903, -340-3

The stamp did not seem to be inprinted over any other lettering.

I did notice another symbol stamped in the block kind of an oval with an elongated shape in it.
I believe NHRA had a logo similar to this when I was a kid in the mid 70's. I did not get a picture as it was 3/8" or less.

I have heard rumors about "special" blocks, but this one has us all scratching our heads.

Also the block was painted Hemi Orange, almost the thickness of powder coating.

Any of you old timers wanna take a crack at filling me in?

Picture this: an orange engine block with the word "SCARBERRY" imprinted where the vin should be. note: the word is imprinted upside down.

Ford used an oval.
Scratch off the oval see if it is Ferd blue under the powder coat.
I suspect they painted it orange to throw you off.
Chebie tried the same thing.
Scared berry might be the "special" code word they used in their
high performace program.
Read backwords it reads berry scared.

Those Ferd people are a sneaky bunch.

The only thing I can find is Scarberry as a family name. Somebody ordered it special and put their name on it?????
