Seat foam thickness

howdy. Im recovering the split bench seat out of a 73 swinger with legendary covers. The original seat foam is 1 3/4 thick. Should i get 2 inch thick or 1 1/2 inches?

Many old plastics shrink with age.

It's not so much as the thickness as it is in DENSITY. I found 1in marine grade foam and added it to the Legendary foam by using 3m spray adhesive.
