I watched that via live feed. The sure got it off the ground with ease and plenty of runway left. Obviously that crew knew how to handle the situation.

i have lived in Wichita since 1948. this has never happened before. dont for get on the east side of wichita there are 3 air ports in a line. but only one big enough for the 747. NOTE: it wasnt a regular 747. it was a heavy hauler 747. much bigger than reg 747.

how do you miss Mcconnell afb? did the pilot sleep through the landing? that is too funny--The good is the plane can take off & land at a much shorter runway than previously thought.

I'm also in Wichita heard the rubber necking was unbelieveable around this event.
