Sound deadener and body plugs?

I'm starting on the sound deadening in the truck. I have no flooring at all right now just bare metal. First layer going in is a version of kilmat, then carpet padding, then vinyl.

I have a handful of these body plugs to figure out. What should I do with them? Leave in place and go over with the kilmat, or leave them accessible and trim the kilmat around them?

I just did Kilmat in my ‘73 Swinger while my new Legendary seat cover was going on. I went right over the top of all my body plugs. I’ve seen some guys on here trim around them but couldn’t figure out why I’d want access to them personally. Just my $.02.

I figure if I’m pulling seats, carpet, and multiple layers of sound deadening material, I have way bigger issues than access to a few body plugs.

Weren't those holes there because of the manufacturing process? I don't think they serve any purpose now. So unless you're doing a totally correct restoration you can just seal them up with some hand made sheet metal circles, which is the way I did it.

Holes were only there for the primer to pour back out of....
