I got a 440 source aluminum water pump housing with the 440 source aluminum alternator bracket and spacer kit. The hole closest to thermostat housing required a lot of washer to get it to line up with lower spacer, is this acceptable?

3/8” pipe nipple. Buy like a 3” nipple. Cut the threads off and then cut down to the length you need with a hacksaw.
If you cut it straight- nobody will know after a touch of rattle can black.

I personally have some of the inner fender reinforcement rods from a 75’Duster. (Fender to cowl) The wall thickness is the same as the factory bushings you are looking for. It is amazing how many pieces I’ve made from one support.

Or try the local hardware store. True Value here has various spacers in many different sizes.

If no one quotes, then you have no indication that there are replies unless you go back to the post and check.

Don’t know what tools you have, but I used a 4 inch grinder to take the shoulders off of 2 nuts.
Then put them on a bolt and stuck that in my drill press and used the grinder and a flap disc while the drill press was spinning and got the nuts nice and round.
Even painted them while they were spinning.

They are the black spacers between the AC compressor and the mounting bracket.

Painting the hot spinning new resulting spacers duplicated the cast parts finish.

If you are ok with the washers, that’s fine too.

I'm thinking it best to make sure the bracket is moved evenly to keep the alternator pulley parallel to the pump and crank pulleys.
