Upon inspection of my spark plugs today i found one not seated properly. It felt tight but you could see it had been blowing. The whole plug and the bottom of the boot were black. The threads must be crossthreaded. Could this be affecting my performance? If so, How?

Get a spark plug thread chaser from the local parts store.
Run it down to check the threads. You could have a carbon
build up at the end of the threads. The tool is cheap and
simple. When you are done cleaning the threads, just crank
the engine over 4 or 5 times with the plug out to clean out
any gunk out of the cylinder.

You can put axle grease in the "flutes" between the threads to help grab any garbage that the chaser knocks loose too.

theres a new type that goes in colapsed and you tighten it and pull the trash up with the chaser. I think i saw it on 2 guys garage
