Hey guys:
I stumbled upon this large-frame starter with a heat shield on it at the Pull-a-part today. Being a parts geek, I bought it of course since I've never seen one.
This was on an '83 Ramcharger w/318 4bbl. If it's a custom thing, it's well done. It uses a large worm-drive clamp to hold it in place.
It's actually upside down, the part that curves over the starter motor should be on the bottom following the path of the exhaust pipe.
Anybody have an idea?
