I was wondering what size is the steering box to pitman arm nut on the 67-72 manual and power boxes, and the size of the nut on 73 up power steering boxes. i need to remove these and the largest socket and open end/box wrench i have is 1&1/4".

thanks
Matt

I just tourqed a manuel box the other day. From memory, I was going to say inch and a quarter bud, so I guess I'll tap out. Haha

As far as I know never seen another size, mopar, ford, gm all the same

ok thanks, i will see if i can get just that 1 socket in an impact socket. may have to visit the tool truck as much as i dont want to.

just ordered a 1 5/16 wrench off Amazon, same price as the socket I just bought from Oreilly's which was a 3/4 in drive, can't get the socket on the nut because of my headers, may be something to look at, gonna keep the big azz socket anyway

couldent find a single impact socket in 1&5/16" locally in 1/2" drive. everything was 3/4" drive. so i went on evilbay. $12 later its now on its way. just have to wait for it to get here now.

Nothing i have is 3/4" drive. I really dont want or need an oddball socket and adaptor. i am happy with what i bought. i did think about an adaptor for a fleeting moment, then put it out of my mind since nothing else i have is 3/4".
