All I was trying to do was replace my turn signal switch and it's turned it to a bit more than I thought. I ended pulling the lower shaft out of the steering box and I've been fighting those two retaining blocks with clamp for a while. Just wondering what's the best way to install them.

I also removed the two bearing housing retaining nuts and the two bolts with the square heads came out as well. When I put the nuts back I seem to be missing something because the threads stop short of being able to tighten them down.

I'm normally good at documenting things as I go along but I removed the nuts and the shaft came out and it turned into a cluster. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

When removing the column it should be removed from the box by the roll pin, taking the whole flex joint with the column. Now you must assemble the joint and its seal. The spring clip goes on first and its purpose is to spread those two shoes outward toward the housing. Grease it up and secure the seal. Next the shift collar square headed bolts. These will install very, very loose. When the collar and the outer tube are aligned the square head will hook into two square holes at the top of the tube. Now tighten them and the collar will be secured to the tube.

Note the orientation of the shoes as they only go in one way PROPERLY.

Mymopar.com has free factory service manuals and there are procedures in it tondo what your need to do

Not the best pics, but what I had on my phone from doing it recently.. Clip goes under shoes look closely how shoes are oriented.
Place clip on pin 1st then place shoes, grease liberally and install coupler. Be sure to pack coupler before installing cover and hold down. If careful seal will stretch over roll pin without removal.

I can always count on you guys for help. I was able to install the lower shaft by undoing a few mounting bolts for a little more play. Took a little persuasion but finally got it in.

I also got the collar bolts to lock in place. It got too dark to finish up. I'll finish tomorrow and post some updated pics

Thanks again.
