i thought they recovered it? i kinda, sorta remember them putting up a wanted ad for some parts-- like an ignition and stuff that got jacked up when they boosted the car.

A Member on the Slant Six Forum posted this 2 years ago, no recent updates or conclusion, so I thought I'd post it here.
STOLEN 1965 Dart in Oakland, CA - Slant Six Forum
She contacted me through my blog a while back.
It really is terrible. She loved the car.
It makes me wonder about criminal underground activity. You'd think a car like this would get parted and dumped or joyridden. But it's just gone.
My dad had a 65 stolen a couple years back. We were able to get the car back, but they'd taken the seats (custom upholstery) and the small bolt pattern wheels. Both were very unique items and I half expected them to show up at a swap meet. But, again, they're just gone. Overseas? Stuffed in someone's backyard? Who knows. Thieves suck.

There are theft rings, and they specialize. A group around here did tailgates for a while, like almost a decade...south of here a bunch were stealing quads & bikes, they'd play with them briefly, then park them just off the highway covered with brush. In the middle of the night they'd pull over at that spot in a U-haul or the like, run 'em up in, & take off to SC/GA & dump 'em there. Always some dirtbag willing to buy that sh*t, they knew where they were comin' from.
