So I bought a bucket list car and I need a crash course on the safest way for me to start driving it.. She's a Gen 2 Barracuda n/a built small block with a 727 RM valve body and clean neutral with trans break hooked to a PPP shifter. Car is also mini tubbed with built rear end. Previous owner will give me a crash course but I'm trying to get my head wrapped around this as much as possible beforehand. Car will be trailered home for safety.

Thank You for any advice...

ALL shifts, up or down, will have to be made by you.
The clean neu5ral is so you can stick it in neutral at the end of a dragstrip pass (otherwise, you'd have to slow down in gear, you can't go thru 2 and 1 to get to neutral )
Assuming good traction, you may be able to set the transbrake, floor the throttle, then step off the switch. A BETTER choice would be a two-step...which it may already have.
Driving it on the street, you just have to remember that you have to shift, and which direction to move the shifter (by the way, the ppp is regarded as the very best there is, not cheap either)
For what it's worth... I would NOT try to use the transbrake AT ALL, till you've made some normal laps, and gotten used to the car. I'm assuming this will be the fastest thing you have driven.
(Advice from a guy with three reverse manual valve body drivers, one with a transbrake)
One other thought... depending on the transbrake manufacturer, you may may have to push the transbrake button while in reverse to back up. (Put in reverse first).

Yeah I just want to figure out the transbrake reverse procedure, Im not worried about launching the car yet.. I have a general idea on what not to do with the car, just don't want to over overspin or grande the transmission. I've driven a lot of things but never anything like this... Thx

Just make sure you don't shift back into first at high speed.
Both my rmvb 727s are NOT "low band apply" meaning that under decel, moving the shifter to 1 results in a freewheeling situation.
My bet is that yours probably DOES have low band apply, generally a safer and more modern situation, (ASK the previous owner) and WILL go into first gear at whatever speed you happen to be going.
As for reverse procedure, ask the previous!. My transbrake did not have to have the button down to back up..... but mine is in a powerglide.

Just jump right in to the deep end of the pool. Get in the car, familiarize yourself with the controls, and go drive. Just drive. No need to try and go fast yet, just get familiar. Might take 10 miles, might take 10,000 miles. Transbrake for reverse is just that, put car in reverse, push transbrake button, car goes backwards. Simple really.

I might be reading up too much on the subject with out a ton of knowledge but it sounds like I should be hoping for the low band apply feature and a 16 roller drag sprag and if not then a chatter shield.. The previous owner brought the car up to date and has all the info, Ill be picking his brain. Thank You

The best way to do it is to do it all yourself. That's like askin what tool to use for a job. We all do things differently. As has been said, start slowly.

go google or watch youtube videos about the proper way to do burnouts.. if you do it wrong you can literally EXPLODE the trans... and i mean explode as in parts coming through the car....

P.S. just read your post 2 up from here... even if it has low band apply and all that.. still learn the proper procedure.. 727s are tough as hell cept that one minor annoyance :)
