As a total novice, it seems a bit silly to be posting tips on here. But I had to swap out a couple of studs as most on the left are left handed but a couple ha been replaced with righties, which was a bit annoying to remember when changing wheels etc.
I know most people say knock em out with a BFH, but I’m a bit of a chicken and don’t want the time and cost of removing hub and using a bench press. Anyway i found this on YouTube so bought one and gave it a try it worked a treat.
It’s a ball joint tool, put the forked end on the back of the hub with the stud head between the “fingers” and the single end on the tip of the stud, then tighten the bolt to close the tool, it pops the stud out (assuming it’s not swaged). To insert turn the tool around single end on the stud head and fingers either side of the thread and tighten to push it in.

Thank you for posting this. Many think it's ok to pull in studs with a lug nut and impact wrench. 200ft lb on a lug stud that is supposed to have 55 ft lbs is a receipt to have a wheel go straight in a corner

Note: the front drums typically have swedged studs so you might need to grind off the swedgjng first.

I think I saw a post on FABO someone showed using a hole cutter that has the internal dimension fractionally larger than the stud can be used to cut away the swedge/ swage?
