i have finished doing a super six conversion but there are problems.
the car will start and idle fine but when i punch the gas to rev it it cuts out for a second. if done while driving it completely stalls. if i press the gas down slowly as it gets half way down it sounds horrible and eventually cuts out and some times back fires. im not sure of whats causing the problem. thanks in advance for the help guys.

Have you rebuilt this carburetor, is it a remanufactured, or just an old carb you had?

Any time an engine stumbles or popes out of the carb under acceleration and large throttle openings it generally indicates a lean condition. Several suspects need to be checked: is the accelerator pump providing a good strong shot when the throttle is opened; is the fuel pump delivering enough fuel at correct pressure; and is the float level set correctly. I’m assuming that the tank, fuel line, and filter are free of crud.

Sounds like the accelerator pump is not working.
