The gear set in my 67 has started to whine at 40 mph and rather than get into it would like to swap it for one from a 73. The one I'm looking at is the center section with gears but no axles. Will my 67 axles and brakes fit this? From what I have read it looks like the flange to flange distance may be shorter from 73 up, but others say they are the same?
